My name is Yehuda. I suppose this blog is really just a place to express my feelings and musings, as I wander this great earth in search for man’s most elusive treasures: self-perfection and true happiness. I believe that both can be found in my Judaism, or rather, in Judaism as a whole. And as such, I search in every corner of this Judaism for the secrets to life and how to live it to its fullest. And so we come to the name of my blog. Aptly named by one who truly cares for me and my self-growth, and for whom I feel the same way, this verse is a quote from Pirkei Avot, the Ethics of the Fathers (4:1):
Ben Zoma would say: Who is wise? One who learns from every man. As it is written: “From all my teachers I have grown wise, for Your testimonials (eidosecha) are my meditation.”
By the way, excuse my rather laughably poetic rhetoric. I will also be trying to use this blog as as method by which to enhance my writing skills, and, as such, be able to convey my messages much better, to whomever may find this blog.
(And excuse me for using whomever, it just seemed appropriate. I’m really not so stuck-up English freak like that. I think I’ll end up writing this more in the style of Shiras HaLev.
)
